Tectonic Connections
This charrette explores emergent tectonic paradigms through systems of repetition. The development of a systematic logic leads to the creation of an open-ended network comprising small units. The unit is developed in such a way that its flexibility of connection creates opportunities for the network to grow three-dimensionally. The system begins to distort itself through this generative growth.
The individual unit is designed to join to adjacent units in three different manners: extending, notching and sliding.
